How to Operate the Bruno Elan Stairlift

Once your stairlift installation is complete, you may be wondering, “How do I operate my new stairlift”? Luckily, the simplistic design of our Bruno Elan stairlifts makes this hassle-free. When you want to operate your new Bruno Elan stairlift, follow these steps:

1. Turn On Your Stairlift
Make sure your stairlift is turned on. In most cases, the battery charge will keep your stairlift on. If for some reason it is turned off, locate the red on/off button by swiveling the chair and pressing the red switch at the base of your stairlift.

2. Prepare Your Stairlift for Operation
Fold the seat down, armrests down, and footrest down into place. Ensure everything is securely positioned for a comfortable and safe ride. If your stairlift has a seatbelt, make sure it is securely fastened over your lap.

3. Operate Your Lift
To operate the stairlift, press and hold the up/down switch in the direction you want to travel. This switch is located at the tip of the right armrest and is identifiable by its key-like design.

How to Fold Up a Stair Lift

Using your Bruno Elan stairlift is easy and convenient, especially with its space-saving design. Here are a few simple steps to show you how to fold up your stairlift and take advantage of its space-saving benefits:

1. Fold Up the Armrests
The armrests of the Bruno Elan stairlift fold up easily. Ensure you hear a click when folding them up, indicating they are securely in place. If you do not hear a click, the armrests may fall back down.

2. Fold Up the Seat
The seat of your stair lift folds up just as effortlessly. Simply lift the seat upwards to fold it into place. Unlike the armrests there are no clicks involved–just lift and fold.

3. Fold Up the Footrest
Just like the seat, the footrest also folds up smoothly. Lift the footrest to fold it up into place–no clicks involved.

Enjoy the added space savings when your stairlift is not in use. To use the stairlift again, simply reverse these steps and fold all the parts down!

How to Raise and Lower the Stairlift

Raising and lowering your stairlift is simple and hassle-free! First, locate the key-like switch on the right armrest of your stairlift. Second, press and hold press and hold the up/down switch in the direction you want to travel.

If the switch gets caught on your clothing do not worry! The mechanism is designed to come free to prevent damage. Simply pop the switch back into place until you hear a click and you are good to go. If your lift does not operate after popping the switch back into place, it may be time to call a professional for stairlift repair services, as there could be an underlying issue.

He arrived early for our appointment which is always a good sign. He carefully and meticulously installed my stairlift between the first floor and basement. He recommended the Elan model and its perfect for me. I’ve begun to use it and it really gives me great freedom of movement between the two levels of our house. It’s very easy to get on and off at each level. It operates quietly and smoothly. With the seat folded, everyone is able to use our staircase easily. Thanks Doug, we appreciate you.
