For Service, Repairs, & Installation
When you have our technicians do a stairlift removal at your home, we will start with an evaluation of the chairlift itself and design a plan to remove it in the most efficient way possible. This includes knowing where the power for the stairlift is so that we can properly disconnect that. Some stairlift removals require special tools which our team will be equipped with if necessary.
If the stairs are carpeted, you will see the compressed areas where the rail brackets were mounted. These can be restored fairly quickly by running a vacuum over the spots to help restore the carpet fibers. This will also remove any leftover debris from the wood under the carpet that the rail brackets were screwed into.
If the stairs were hardwood, you will see several holes where each rail bracket was located. These can be cleaned up and a wood putty used to fill these holes. In either case of hardwood treads or carpeted stairs, when the stairlift has been removed there will only be minimal cleaning and repair to bring your stairs back to like-new condition.
When you call our team at Stairlift Medics we can provide you with an approximate length of time it will take to remove the stairlift as well as a general cost estimate. These estimates will vary based on the age of the stairlift, if the lift is a straight stairlift or if it is a curved stairlift, the number of stairs, as well as who the manufacturer is. The more straightforward the stairlift is, the quicker we can remove it.
